Learning Resources & Links

Listed on this page are links to the sites I frequent in my quest to become a better photographer

  • Adorama Learning Center – Tons of articles and videos on both learning skills, knowlege, and gear reviews.  My favorite site!
  • Photojojo – Lots of articles, fun ideas & projects, and some really neat camera gear.  They even have photo accessories for the iPhone camera!
  • Digital Photography Review – My favorite place to research cameras and gear.  You will find VERY in-depth reviews of Cameras and lenses.  I’ve chosen my current and previous camera based on info on this site.  They also have some great tutorial articles and forums.
  • PhotoCamel Forum – The forum I spend time on.  The members are very friendly to “noobs” and very knowledgeable.

I know this is a short list and that there is a LOT more out there.  It’s not my intention for this to be an exhaustive list, but just the sites I regularly use and find helpful.  If you know of any other good ones, please leave a comment with a link/URL to it, and I may find a new favorite 🙂

  1. I get a lot of good ideas from the multitude of groups on flickr. By taking part in a weekly or monthly competition, it can help you experience different types of photography and styles. I like the Gizmodo.com shooting challenge at http://gizmodo.com/shooting-challenge and Competition Corner at http://www.flickr.com/groups/competition_corner/
I’ve not tried photojojo or PhotoCamel. I’ll check them out. Thanks for the tips.
Good luck on your 365 project! I’m nearly done with mine…

  2. Thanks for the links, I was looking for great community sites! 😀 I feel lonely with my pictures, I need to chat with other photogs enthusiats! 😀

    • Glad to help! Feel free to share any others you learn about w/ me; I’m always looking to expand my circle 🙂 There are great bloggers here on wordpress that you can interact with, too. Check out seeingspotsphotography and Nick Exposed
