Day 216 (3 Aug 2012) Barb Wire

Today during my lunch break I took a short drive because I had this idea to shoot barb wire in my head.  And out here in “the sticks” we have lots of it around 🙂  So I pulled off the side of the road and shot a few sections of a fence.  One one fence post I found this insect that looks like it’s either about to eat lunch or make more insects (not sure if there are male/female differences like in birds); the little one was not struggling, and I couldn’t tell if it was alive or not.  Anyone of you out there know?

Day 192 (10 July 2012) Flowers and Bugs

One thing I like about doing yard work s that I get more than a drive-by look at my yard, and the flowers, plants, and nature that it contains.  As I was mowing after dinner tonight, I spotted some flowering plants that I had not seen/noticed before.  And while shooting one set, I noticed the beetle in the last photo.

Shooting at home is a great way to relax after a day at work, IMO.  Especially since I don’t have to drive anywhere, and I have plenty to shoot with my macro lens 🙂

Day 132 (11 May 2012) Here’s Looking at You, Kid!

I took a few minutes at lunch to walk outside my home with my camera/marco lens to see what I could find.  I found this little dragonfly next to my walk way.  Most of my shots were out of focus (slight breeze and not using a tripod), but I like this one better than the rest anyway.

I also swapped back to my kit zoom lens when the sun came out later and tried for more cloud shots.
