Day 351 (16 Dec 2012) Journaling

Journaling is something that I don’t do enough of.  It’s very relaxing and thereputic to just put pen to paper and let your thoughts flow.  I do really need to do it more.  Maybe I’ll make it a goal in 2013 to write more 🙂  I do have a journal that needs filling. . .

Day 318 (13 Nov 2012) The Gift of Life

I’ve been a blood donor since I was 17, giving my first pint as a Junior in high school.  I’ve not always been consistent in giving every time possible, but always do when asked.  I’ve been more regular since moving to CT, and its always a good feeling to be able to help someone who I will never meet!

I highly recommend you go to www.redcross.com and find a donation site near you and give!  There is almost always a shortage, so your donation will be greatly appreciated by someone and their family!  If you don’t like needles, you won’t even have to watch them stick you or look at your arm at any time.  All you feel is a little pinch and it’s over!

Do you give blood?  Why or why not?  I’m curious to know 🙂

Day 195 (13 July 2012) Tough Mudder

Tomorrow is Tough Mudder!  If you have heard of it, you know what I’m going to face tomorrow.  If not, check out the link; It’s basically a 12 mile, military-level obstical course, created by British SpecialOps guys.  I’m totally excited and nervous at the same time!

I’ve been training in a new-ish type of shoe called “minimalist”, with has virtually no cushion, and is not much more than a protective sole held to my feet.  I love them!  But I’ve never done anything this extreme in them, yet, so that’s part of my nervousness. 🙂  So, in honor of the Tough Mudder, I decided to shoot my shoes.  Not super exciting, but I’m excited for tomorrow 🙂
