Days 353-363 (18-28 Dec 2012) Catch Up Post, and GOOD NEWS!!

These past several days have been crazy, busy, and awesome!  I have not had a chance to post, but I have taken photos every day (even if just with my iPhone), so I am still on track for this project!!!

Below are some of the photos, the most important/best ones of these several days.  Some have not been processed yet, and others (such as the iPhone snapshots) are not worth posting here.  Starting next year, I will move my blog to another WordPress address; I have a few reserved, but will let you know the new address to subscribe to.  I will not be doing another 365 project, but I will still be making photos all the time, and posting.  My goal is to have a site (WordPress or other) where I can post not only a blog, but also galleries to show off my best work.  I will also be buying a domain name (or two) and professional hosting.

Please take a moment and view below what is my absolute favorite photo of all time!!

Day 328 (23 Nov 2012) Plymouth

Today after hitting the one Black Friday sale for the one item I needed I made my way to a beach in Plymouth, MA.  There was a heavy fog this morning, and I was hoping it would linger a bit.  There was still some by the time I shot, so I’m happy w/ the shots 🙂  I just need a sensor cleaning (spent some time correcting for the sensor dust tonight)

Day 263 (21 Sep 2012) The Beginning of an Adventure

Right now I’m sitting at Boston Logan waiting or my flight to Barcelona, via Paris! Getting to this point was an ordeal I won’t bore you with, but I will tell you that I bought a ticket on Aer Lingus but am flying Air France. The important thing is that I will be seeing my gf just after 2pm tomorrow, Spanish time 🙂 🙂

I snapped this photo while in a “Big Dig” tunnel in Boston on my way to the airport. I edited it in Snapseed (my fav iPhone photo editing app) and posting via the WordPress app.

I’ll be spending the next 2 weeks in Spain, France, and Andorra (mostly near Barcelona). I will if course be shooting TONS of photos, but may not post for several days. I’ll try to put some quick images up periodically via iPhone, and a wrap-up post after I return. I’ll try to catch up on my blog reading, then too.

Day 71 (11 March 2012) Boston, MA

Ok, so I know it’s past midnight, but I did take these shots on the 11th 🙂  I JUST got home from spending all day in MA, with a few hours in Boston w/ my gr.  We ran across these two guys drumming on buckets (similar to what I’ve seen in NYC subways) and they were pretty good, so we watched for a while (yes, I did throw in some money).  Later, we were relaxing on a bench and looked up and saw these lights which were neat to look at.

Anyway, it’s late and I have to be up soon, so I’ll leave you with these photos (the rest will be up on Flickr this week, inc. some light painting):

Day 28 (28 Jan 2012) Sandy Neck Beach

Since today’s weather was more like May instead of January I decided to go for a hike at Sandy Neck Beach on the Mass Cape.  I took a lot of photos but here are the ones I like the best.  Yes, there are more than 1, but I couldn’t narrow it down to just one or two today 🙂

Day 22 (22 Jan 2012) Sunday River, Day 3

Good by wonderful mountain!  I’ll miss you!

Today was great!  The light snow that fell yesterday coupled with a cold night and bright sun made for great conditions!  Some of the best I’ve seen on the East Coast!  The mountain was mostly empty, too!  It was great to just be able to point my board down and push the limits of control (I maxed out today at 43 mph!)!

Tomorrow starts ‘normal’ life again, but that’s not a bad thing!  I’ll get to see my friends again, and start a new semester!

These photos were taken after I decided I was done for the day/weekend.  It was 2 hrs before my lift ticket expired, but after 3 days of hard riding (and not being as young as I once was), coupled with a pending 5 hr drive home, I was finished!

Day 14 (14 Jan 2012) 13 Minutes In Heaven

13 minutes and 39 seconds to be exact.  That’s how long the shutter was open pointing at the North Star tonight.  It was great finally having a clear night I could do this!  I’ll be trying much longer times to see how long I can get the star trails.  The bright area in the lower left is light pollution from a nearby town.  It’s hard to avoid in New England 😦

Taking long night exposures is very time-consuming: first you have the actual time the shutter is open, then over twice as long (it seems) for the camera to conduct noise reduction processing.  But it’s worth it, IMO.  Enjoy!
