Day 304 (30 Oct 2012) Powerless

Hurricane Sandy knocked out power to most of the state, including my home.  But having prepared, I had propane for my fireplace (not as fun as a real one, but much more convenient).  I thought it might be fun to play around with shooting it, including changing the focal length (zoom) while the shutter was open.  The first is my fav of the group because it looks like the grate is in the fire in part 🙂

Day 29 (29 Jan 2012) Zooming Stars

Good evening!

I decided to try to have a little fun with tonight’s photo.  I’ve shot photos in the past where I zoomed while the shutter was still open, but never tried it on a longer exposure of stars.  It might be more interesting when there is no moon out (but I’m not staying up that late tonight!).

Day 5 (5 Jan 2012) Light Painting and Happy Birthday!

Good evening!  It’s day 5 and I’m still going strong!  Today you get two photos, again!

The first one is a light painting using a series of lit hoops over a walk way on the Colchester Town Green.  See other pics of it on my Flickr Photosteam (see link/pics on right)

The second one was by special request from a friend who’s celebrating a birthday today!
